Are you looking for the chance to work as an Accounts Assistant and possibly earn a professional qualification such as AAT?

My client is a very successful local business, with offices throughout the South West, who have an opportunity to join their Taunton office as an Accounts Assistant.

Specific tasks include:

  • Responding to telephone enquiries, directing calls to colleagues, assisting with queries and taking messages.
  • Processing of cheques and daily banking.
  • Processing of data transactions using Sage Professional 200 accounting software.
  • Assisting with the processing of Tenant Deposit scheme administration and producing Landlord statements.
  • Maintaining records for our Surveyors to enable accurate, efficient submissions of annual RICS declarations.
  • Filing, archiving, scanning of documents.
  • Supporting other members of the team as and when required.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have a great attitude to work, be personable and extremely keen to learn.  The right candidate needs to have previous experience in working in a busy multi-disciplined accounts department.  Knowledge of using accounting software and Microsoft packages is essential (especially Excel), although full training will be given.

Proven experience using Excel and accounting software.
